When witches go riding
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.

Supplies:

U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam
Extreme Adhesive Squares
Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares
Spooled Ribbon Adhesive
Authentique:
Glowing Pattern Papers – Diffused, Lustrous, Enchanted, Luminous and Thrill
Glowing Icons Cardstock Elements
Glowing Notables Cardstock Elements
Classic Type Alpha Stickers
Other: wood craft door hanger; black acrylic paint; natural hemp; black tulle; silver beads; silver pipe cleaner; black gingham ribbon; clear gems; Fiskars Ghost, Triangle and Circle Squeeze Punches
Instructions:
1. Paint wood door hanger with black acrylic paint and let dry. Lightly coat with matte finish clear acrylic spray to seal.
2. Cut pattern paper to cover the lower portion of the door hanger – about 3” x 5”. Use both the Glue Glider Pro with the High Tac Pro+ Adhesive and the Extreme Adhesive Squares to adhere the pattern paper to the door hanger.
3. Create a 3” scalloped circle accent to be the background for the paper pumpkin.
4. Apply a small square of U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam near the bottom left of the door hanger. Attach the scalloped circle here.

5. Punch 14 to 16 – 2” circles from orange pattern paper. I alternated 2 patterns. Fold them in half with the pattern you wish to see on the inside of the fold. Using the High Tac Pro+ Adhesive, adhere the pieces together to begin creating the 3 dimensional sphere. The more circles you use the more full the pumpkin will look.
6. Once the half sphere is complete, apply Extreme Adhesive Squares to the back and press onto the scalloped circle.
7. Create the cone hat from a wedge cut from a 4” circle. Form a cone from this and adhere the edges using Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares. Embellish the top of the hat with silver pipe cleaner, a hemp bow, a button and clear gem. Use the Ribbon Adhesive around the base of the hat and wrap a small piece of silver pipe cleaner around this. Attach the hat to the top of the pumpkin using more Extreme Adhesive Squares and Micro Squares.

8. Make a mini banner using triangle punches, hemp and alpha stickers popped up with U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam. Fold the top straight edges of the triangles over and secure onto the hemp with Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares. Tie knots at the ends and secure to the door hanger with Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares just under each knot.

9. Tie several strips of black tool to the top left of the door hanger and trim as needed. Attach the “fun” cardstock element to the center of the bow with an Extreme Adhesive Square. Use an Extreme Micro Adhesive Square to secure the “happy haunting” cardstock element as well.
10. Adhere the ghost punch and the “Spooky Style” cardstock element using U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam.
11. Create a jack-o-lantern face from black cardstock. Touch the edges with white ink and attach to the pumpkin with Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares. Add gems to the eyes. Tie a ribbon bow and secure it under the pumpkin’s face again with an Extreme Micro Adhesive Square.

12. Apply a crackle liquid finish to the BOO alpha stickers and let dry flat. Add any additional gems, accents or finishes to complete the door hanger. Enjoy!
Suggestion: If you like to “BOO” your neighbors or friends, create a paper pocket to hold treats that you can adhere to the back of the door hanger.

ReplyDeleteSuch cute projects. I loved them both, I love making the door hangers too. I have done a few in the past and they are fun to do.

ReplyDeleteSuper cool door hanger and treat box - LOVE the dimensional pumpkin!!!
ReplyDeletePretty quiet on the Halloween front here, but do make sure to have plenty of individually wrapped treats on hand for any Trick or Treaters :)
Thank you for the chance to win!
I have had a couple of those coffin boxes for a couple of years. Now I know what to do with them! What a fabulous idea!
ReplyDeleteI think both projects are great, but my favorite one is the coffin treat box which holds the treats offered at a Halloween Party and then could be a keepsake or reused at a future party. Because each project had three D components you would have to have a real good adhesive to keep those 3D components attached and GlueGlider PRO+ adhesives would be the best selection and the best place to look for these adhesives is GlueArts.
ReplyDeleteWow that coffin is adorable!!! And thanks to Grace for sharing her great idea about stocking up and giving them to friends/coworder.. I'm definitely going to do that :) Patti's door hanger is amazing, LOVE all the details and the circle punched pumpkin is paper crafting heaven!
ReplyDeleteThese projects are just amazing! I am going to have to try and make the door hanger for sure. Thanks for the inspiration and chance to win!
